Overview
Located on Habana Street in the labyrinth of colonial streets in the very heart of Old Havana, Casa Vitrales is one of the most upmarket boutique Casa Particulars in Old Havana and a firm favourite with clients. The large house dating back to 1902, is located very close to Cathedral square as well as the Museum of the Revolution and many important places in Old Havana.
Casa Vitrales covers three storeys of a grand old house and has been meticulously renovated to preserve the spirit of this typical Old Havana merchants house. Boasting louvred shutters, decoratively tiled floors, high ceilings and original brightly coloured window glass which refracts the Caribbean light. The Casa is focused around a central patio, now a communal lounge area for guests, with plenty of local art and artefacts, a passion of the owners.
There is also a spacious sun terrace with day beds and inspiring views across the historic buildings of the local neighbourhood including the famous art deco style Bacardi building. Guests can enjoy breakfast on the terrace as well as evening drinks and snacks in this peaceful oasis above the bustle of Old Havana’s streets.
Rooms are spacious and of different shapes with open spaces and fine colonial Cuban furniture built from local Acana wood. They are air-conditioned and also have fans, a fridge and private bathroom with shower and hot water. There are six standard Boutique Rooms beautifully furnished with simple but stylish décor, and the two Suites benefit from more space in both the bedroom and bathroom.
Yosvany and Juan head up a small, very friendly team and are on hand to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Casa Vitrales also have a delightful resident kitten called Nina!
