Hotel La Union : Cienfuegos

The hotel La Unión is seen by many as the flagship historical  property in Cienfuegos and its certainly superbly located right in the historical centre. Inaugurated in 1869 it has a distinctive neo-classical architectural style and after  welcoming guests for nearly a century, it closed after the Revolution .It  reopen fully refurbished in 2000 to welcome international guests and has subsequently been refurbished again in more recent years after being chosen as the host hotel for some high ranking international political visitors !

The Hotel Union offers a restaurant, two bars and a lovely rooftop terrace with great views through the centre of Cienfuegos to the ocean. The small outdoor swimming pool comes as a welcome addition, especially on hot summer days after a day of exploring. The pool is built into a ground floor courtyard with Romanesque style statues and a classic feel. Hidden away and very peaceful,  the pool area alongside the rooftop terrace are certainly the main highlights of the hotel.

The 38 spacious classic rooms are comfortable, spacious and classically furnished with air conditioning and a private bathroom, upgrades to Junior Suites and Suites are available bringing considerably more space and a living area
