Getting to Cuba

There’s an excellent choice of  flights from the UK to Havana and Varadero (within 2 hours drive from Havana ) and regional Cuban airports, with very easy connections in Madrid, Paris or Canada.

  • Iberia Airlines offer regular flights each week from London Heathrow to Havana via Madrid
  • Air France offer regular flights each week from London Heathrow  to Havana via Paris and also offer regional departures from Edinburgh, Dublin, Newcastle, Manchester and Birmingham also via Paris
  • Aero Mexico uniquely offer daily evening flights from London Heathrow to Havana via Mexico City
  • Air Canada fly daily from London Heathrow to Toronto and Montreal and also have season summer flights from Manchester and Edinburgh to Toronto. They fly regularly from Canada to Varadero , Santa Clara , Cayo Coco and Holguin
  • Air Transat fly daily from London Gatwick  to Toronto and Montreal and also have regular weekly flights from Manchester and Glasgow  to Toronto. They fly regularly from Canada to Varadero , Santa Clara , Cayo Coco and Holguin

Getting around Cuba

Air – Whilst there is a domestic network of flights in Cuba, linking Havana with the cities of Holguin and Santiago De Cuba. Schedule changes and delays means that they are not the most efficient way to travel. Long Distance Coaches – There is a network of long distance air conditioned coach transport covering the island which are cheap, but sadly not the most reliable, and can be slow with multiple stops. For those with time on their hands and the flexibility in their holiday to manage delays, they can be a cost effective way to travel longer distances. Car - Car Hire Cuban style is certainly for the experienced traveller who sees self drive as part of their Cuban adventure! Speaking Spanish is recommended as you navigate a road network that has few road signs but little traffic. For the adventurous traveller, car hire allows you to explore Cuba's more rural regions and we will provide you with road maps, route advice and information on how to negotiate the road system. Taxis – Taxis are readily available in Havana and all the main colonial cities and beach areas . In more rural and remote areas they are harder to find and could in fact be a horse and cart! Bicycles - Enjoy an experience with the locals, by using one of our bicycles to explore Vinales during your stay here, we provide helmets and the local know how on the Cuban cycling etiquette !
